Mea culpa on Richardson
Oops on legislature ballots
Some days I get the bear, some days he gets me.
I left the house to head to work Thursday when my phone rang. I pulled over, took out my notepaper and talked to Republican election commissioner Jennifer Sandonato.
When I returned home later, I wrote a story about John Accardo losing his spot in the Republican primary and Dante Richardson being off the ballot for the 6th District Legislature seat.
Midday Friday, Richardson started blowing up my phone wondering who got to me and how I was trying to weasel my way in with the establishment.
I assured him no one got to me. It was human error. I misinterpreted my own notes, nothing more, nothing less.
There is a lawsuit filed that will be heard next week challenging Richardson’s petitions. He is still on the ballot but that could change.
I also received an explanation for Bridgette Myles allegedly getting the signature of an incarcerated man on her petitions. While Myles petitions will be ruled on in court over allegations she had her son and other people collecting signatures she later claimed to have witnessed, there is more to the story of the incarcerated signer.
