Short Take Politics:

In Texas, Talarico rises

Turning the Lone Star state blue used to seem unthinkable, but James Talarico, a common-sense follower of Jesus who seems compassionate and inclusive at every turn the the face of Christian-Nationalism’s drive to destroy its enemies seems to have found a voice, and brand, that is winning. https://www.newsweek.com/democrats-pipe-dream-of-turning-texas-blue-takes-step-forward-11615092

House oversight committee subpoenas attorney general

The Republican-led committee, against the wishes of its chair, is asking Pam Bondi to testify under oath about why the law requiring the release of the Epstein files has been ignored. Just more than half the files that were supposed to be released in December have seen the light of the Internet and most of those are heavily redacted. Apparently, the House Oversight Committee is not distracted by war. https://www.cnn.com/2026/03/04/politics/bondi-epstein-files-subpoena-oversight-committee
