SHOPLIFTING: A Rainbow Boulevard resident was arrested at Dollar Tree on a charge of petit larceny in addition to criminal impersonation at 9:58 a.m. Friday.
SHOPLIFTING AND A CHASE: Police were called to Dollar Tree Portage Road at 9:37 a.m. Friday for a report of a shoplifting. The suspect had fled the scene but was noticed running on Elmwood Avenue. The officer ordered him to stop at gunpoint. He fled, was captured in bushes and charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants. The items stolen were valued at $3.75.
RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT: Police were called to 1055 Cleveland Ave. for a report of an assault with a weapon at 6:34 p.m. Friday for a report of a disturbance. Two men were fighting as police arrived. Bystanders pointed at an aggressor. The other male was detained as well. On of the parties, a 15th Street resident, pointed at a backpack and told police he has a licensed handgun in his possession. Police found two weapons including a Crimson Carry .45 and a Smith & Wesson .38. He was charged with 1st degree reckless endangerment.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE: Police were called to 8325 Buffalo Ave. for a report of a neighbor dispute at about 8:15 p.m. Friday. They spoke to two residents who said a neighbor was behaving irrationally and had threatened them with a weapon. There had been some sort of dispute earlier in the day and the suspect, holding a scythe-like weapon was heavily intoxicated and taken into custody on a charge of menacing.
RESPECT THE TAPE: Police investigating a Cleveland Avenue crime scene at about 7:30 p.m. Friday took a Fairfield Avenue man into custody after he refused repeated commands to stay behind tape marking an active crime scene.
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED: An officer on patrol on Pine Avenue at about 2:16 a.m. Saturday was alerted to a stolen vehicle by a license plate reader and executed a traffic stop. The driver, a Buffalo resident, and 3 Niagara Falls residents were all issued tickets on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
MENACING: At 8:34 p.m. Saturday, two suspects were charged with menacing following an incident involving intoxication and a firearm on Niagara Avenue. A .20 gauge shotgun was recovered.
BROKEN WINDOW: An Olcott resident was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief after breaking a pair of windows on a 21st Street residence at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday.
