BAD TAG: Police on patrol on Hyde Park Boulevard near Porter Road were alerted to a suspended registration by a car-mounted plate reader at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and charged a Hyde Park Boulevard resident with driving without insurance and driving with a suspended registration.
ATTEMPTED THEFT: A Pine Avenue resident reported 3 p.m. Wednesday that someone has smashed the rear window of his 2013 Hyundai Elantra and tampered with the steering column in an attempt to steal the car. Damage was estimated at $400.
SHOPLIFTING: A North Tonawanda woman allegedly attempted to steal groceries valued at $78 from Tops Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 1:22 p.m. Wednesday. She was charged with petit larceny and burglary, illegal entry because she had previously been banned from all Tops because of shoplifting in 2023.
PORCH PIRATE: A Cedar Avenue resident reported at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday someone stole a package from her porch. The items from Temu were valued at $48.81.
