Council meets tonight
The supporting materials for the 6 p.m. tonight meeting of the Niagara Falls Council were distributed by email Tuesday by acting Corporation Counsel Thomas DeBoy.
Numerous resolutions for the expenditure of American Rescue Plan funds carried this admonition:
FAILURE TO APPROVE THIS RECOMMENDATION WILL REQUIRE THE CITY TO REFUND (dollar amount) TO THE UNITED STATES TREASURY.
$56 million of federal funds were allocated to Niagara Falls on April 18, 2021. It is 44 months later and $18.25 million, remains unallocated that we know about. There has been no full accounting.
The council will also vote on extending the Pit Chic contract and will hear a 10-minute presentation of Paws in the Falls.
