Time for 'Freddy and Betty'

The Lewiston Artisan and Farmers Market is this morning in Academy Park.

You can go there for beans, great beef from Thyme’s Right Farm, perhaps soap, or granola.

You can’t however, leave without a “Freddy and a Betty” from Wandering Gypsy Brewing on Braley Road in Ransomville.

Wandering Gypsy is a great place for a beer, an eclectic bite and sometimes live music.

The proprietors are Bob and Jenn Pepperday. When they were dating, before Bob knew what he wanted to do in life besides being a financial advisor, and they were ready to leave to go somewhere, Bob would say “Ready Betty?” Jen would respond “Ready Freddy.”

It was a throw away Fred and Ethel moment (they may be too young to remember the Murmans and I might have “Freddy and Bettty” reversed) but hey, it’s a hell of a fine sandwich, meat, egg and cheese. Freddy is the spicy one.
