CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On the Saturday Sunday overnight someone slashed two tires on a Cadillac parked in the 2700 block of Forest Avenue. A window was smashed. Damage was estimated at $300.
SHOPLIFTER: Police were called to Walmart at about 8 p.m. Sunday and arrested Lucas Greenland, 43, of 1740 Ashland Ave. on petit larceny charges after he was caught by loss prevention personnel attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise.
LARCENY: A resident of the 1000 block of Ferry Avenue reported the theft of a wallet and Iphone from a vehicle sometime between midnight and 2 a.m. Monday.
REALLY ILLEGAL: Police on patrol on Haeberle Avenue observed an expired inspection at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday and executed a traffic stop. Rodriguez Burton, 34, of 1157 Haeberle Ave. was charged with no inspection, no license, aggravated unlicensed operation, driving with a suspended license and AUO 1st.
STRUCTURE FIRE: Police responded to 1729 Ferry Ave. for a structure fire. The resident said he was putting away groceries when he noticed his toaster on fire at about 9:45 a.m. Friday. A dog was rescued and resuscitated.
STOLEN CAR RECOVERED: Police responded to a Niagara Falls Boulevard hotel for a report of an unknown disturbance. In the parking lot, a license plate reader identified 2010 Hyundai stolen out of Cheekowage. Dean Fix, 54, exited the adjacent room, admitted the car was his and gave police the keys. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property at about 4 p.m. Thursday.
SHOPLIFTER: Police responded to Walmart where Nicole Shelton, 40, of 1740 Ashland Ave. allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at $583.83 at about 10 p.m. Thursday. She was charged with petit larceny.
UNWANTED PERSON: Police on patrol on First Street near Quality Inn were flagged down for a fight in progress at about 12:45 a.m. Friday. Michael Kirkland, 46, of 1343 Cleveland Ave. was engaged in a physical altercation with a hotel employee. Kirkland was charged harassment, disorderly conduct and menacing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Police responded to Pine Avenue Save-a-Lot at about 1:30 a.m. Friday after a burglar unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Police responded to Horizon Health on Pine Avenue at about 4:16 a.m. Friday. The rear door was damaged but entry was not made.
FRAUD: A Weston Avenue resident reported she noticed a $56 charge to her bank account and contacted an 800 number she found online. She was instructed to download software and transfer funds from saving to checking and complied. Moments later, $3,098 was swept from her account. The investigation is continuing.
DWI: Police patrolling on Hyde Park Boulevard at about 11:15 p.m. Friday reported seeing a Chevy Equinox pass traveling in excess of the 30 mph speed limit and tailgating another vehicle in the dense morning fog. William Swanson, 60, of 6933 Ward Road failed field sobriety tests and was charged with DWI 1st, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, alcohol, aggravated unlicensed operation, circumventing an ignition interlock device order, AUO 3rd, Alcohol/cannabis in a motor vehicle, imprudent speed, following too closely, seatbelt violation and no license.
CAR PILFERRED: A guest at an AirBnb in the 2600 block of Whirlpool Avenue reported someone entered her likely unlocked vehicle and took $50 in cash, a wallet and other items in the Friday/Saturday overnight.
SHOPLIFTER: Police responded to Military Road Walmart where Nassan Scott, 24, of 1740 Elmwood Ave. had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for a bicycle valued at about $160 at 12:20 p.m. Saturday. He was charged with petit larceny.
BURGLARY: A man renovating a property in the 800 block of 22nd St. reported someone broke in and stole tools.
STRUCTURE FIRE: Police responded to a structure fire on Garrett Ave. at about 1 a.m. Sunday. The homeowner said he smelled an odd odor and investigated to find fire in the basement.
LAUNDRY MISCHIEF: The owner of a Main Street laundromat reported two people broke in an attempted to dismantle a dryer to get at the coins at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Police responded and William McMillen, 42, of 635 20th St. upper and Lucas Greenland, 43, of 1740 Ashland Ave. into custody on charges of criminal mischief. The incident was recorded on video by the business owner.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Someone smashed windows and spraypainted a vehicle parked on 24th Street on the Saturday/Sunday overnight.
ATTEMPTED HYUNDAI THEFT: A person renting an AirBnb on Whitney Ave. reported someone broke into their Hyundai and attempted to steal it on Sunday/Monday overnight.
