CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: An employee of a business in the 100 block of 13th Street reported someone left a white handprint on her vehicle sometime Friday morning.
PAY YOUR TAB: A bartender at an establishment in the 300 block of Niagara Street at about 6 p.m. Friday reported a customer ran up a $40.50 tab at the bar and couldn’t pay. Aaron Michael Cheff, age redacted of 409 Elmwood Ave. was charged with failure to pay for services by stealth.
BURGLARY: Sometime between Wednesday and Friday someone entered the backyard of a residence in the 2500 block of Falls Street and stole power equipment valued at $800 from his shed.
BIG BURGLARY: A resident in the 400 block of Hyde Park Boulevard reported someone sometime between 5 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday, gaining entry by smashing a rear window and taking items including multiple firearms, collectibles and cash valued at $11,700.
MENACING: At about 1:20 a.m. Saturday, a man who works security at a Lockport bar reported males in a white Chevy pointed weapons at him as he drove on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The victim suspected a group of customers he recently told was no longer welcome at the bar.
BUSTED WINDOW: A resident of the 2900 block a Cudabeck Ave. reported shots fired. Investigating police found no shell casings but a Twisted Tea bottle that had been used to break a window. The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. Saturday.
LOCK YOUR CAR: A resident of the 4600 block of Hyde Park Boulevard reported receiving a message from her credit card company at about 10:30 Friday night. She checked her vehicle, realized she left it unlocked and her wallet was missing her cards were used twice for minor transactions in Niagara Falls. There is video of the suspect buying cigarettes.
DON’T TRUST YOUR COUSIN: A resident of the 1600 block of Linwood Avenue reported sometime between late Thursday and early Saturday her vehicle was stolen. She suspected a drug-addicted cousin stole her spare key.
THOUGHT IT WAS VACANT: A man moving into an apartment in the 2400 block of Michigan Avenue reported he was settling in when some kicked in the back door. He confronted a suspect in the kitchen and gave unfruitful chase. The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. Friday. Nothing was taken. Police suspect the suspect thought the dwelling was vacant.
ROBBERY FOILED: A clerk in a convenience store in the 1800 block of Niagara Avenue reported she was in the rear of the store pricing items at about 8 p.m. Saturday when someone grabbed her from behind and shoved what she thought was a knife in her back. She fought back. He snatched the chain around her neck, breaking it, but then fled the scene with nothing. Police brought a suspect to the scene but it was not him.
SHOTS FIRED: At about 8:52 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the alley in the 500 block of 5th Street. .40 caliber shell casings were recovered but no suspect was found.
WINDOW SHATTERED: A customer shopping at a Pine Avenue convenience store reported while they were inside, someone shattered the rear window on their vehicle at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday.
SHOPLIFTER: The manager of a Pine Avenue pharmacy detained Michael Jone, 35, of 727 Pine Avenue at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday. Jones was charged with petit larceny for the attempted theft of laundry soap valued at $99.27. He was detained on an outstanding warrant.
KIA STOLEN: At about 10 p.m. Sunday, a resident of the 2400 block of Willow Avenue reported the theft of a 2015 Kia Forte.
BURGLAR INTERRUPTED: At about 1 a.m. Monday a resident of the 3000 block of Orleans Avenue reporte noted his rear gate open and went outside to investigate. The man door to his garage was open. A suspect fled the scene. Nothing was taken
