ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Police on patrol on 22nd Street at about 8:30 p.m. Friday were alerted ny a plate reader to a vehicle with no insurance in effect. The Linwood Avenue resident was charged with no insurance and driving without a license.

UNREGISTERED: A South Avenue resident was pulled over just after midnight Sunday after he was observed driving a vehicle with improper plates near Third and Ferry. He said he bought the Jeep earlier this year and had not registered it. The plates were from his previous vehicle.

DWI: At 11:24 a.m. Friday, police investigated a hit-and-run accident on the 56th Street bridge. The vehicle was last seen on Girard Avenue. Police located it parked and still running in the 2400 block of Independence Avenue with the driver still behind the wheel. The driver, who lived in the same block, exited the vehicle and immediately stumbled, using the car for support. Police observed a large, clear vodka bottle in his pocket. The suspect’s speech was slurred. His movements were stumbly. The suspect failed numerous field sobriety tests and was charged with unsafe tires, DWI 1st, no license, aggravated DWI BAC of .18 or more with 3 priors in 15 years and aggravated unlicensed operation.

TARGET SHOPLIFTER: Police were called to Tops on Niagara Falls Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. Sunday where a Linwood Avenue man was being held following an alleged shoplifting incident. The items he took without paying were valued at $40.96. He was charged with petit larceny.
