PETIT LARCENY: At about 2:09 p.m. Saturday, police were called to Marshalls for a report of a shoplifter. Store workers told police a woman in a pink shirt had left the store carrying a duffel filled with stolen goods. She strolled to Olive Garden where officers found her at the bar with goods valued at $545.68. They gave her a free ride back to Marshall’s and a ticket for petit larceny. The suspect lives on Haeberle Place.
PILFERED PILSNER: Police conducting GIVE community engagement at 5:45 p.m. Sunday at Jonfre’s Bar on Niagara Street were approached by the clerk from 7/11 who stated a man had just ridden off on a bicycle without paying for 2 12 packs of Heineken valued at $49.18. Police located the B Street cyclist a short distance away and charged him with petit larceny.
YOU CAN’T GET AWAY: At 10:40 a.m. Sunday, police were called to Hampton Inn, Niagara Falls Boulevard, where an irate woman was allegedly striking the building with her SUV after being denied service. Officers were advised she had left the scene at a high rate of speed and, as they headed to the scene, observed the vehicle weaving in and out of traffic at high speed. Police attempted a stop but the vehicle sped away, passing red lights at 72nd and 74th and making an illegal U-turn in front of Wendy's and nearly striking several vehicles. The vehicle again ran reds at 74th and 72nd and entered the 190 at a high rate of speed. She pulled over on the right shoulder and was ordered from the vehicle at gunpoint. She told police she was scared to stop because she is in the military and had been chased into the hotel and did not want to get in trouble. She spoke semi-coherently and said she had peed herself prior to arrest. She said damage to the front of the vehicle happened weeks ago in Florida. Her military status could not be verified. The manager at the hotel said the woman had attempted to rent a room but was denied service because she did not have proper identification. She became irate and drove her vehicle toward the hotel at high speed. Police took her into custody and also contacted Crisis Services because of a suspected mental health issue. She was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, illegal U-turn and illegal signal less than 100 feet from an intersection.

The suspect was located walking near Olive Garden and taken into custody. Goods valued at $548.68 were recovered. She was charged with petit larceny and trespassed from the store.
