SHOPLIFTING: A LaSalle Avenue man was observed at about 12:26 p.m. Wednesday pushing a cart filled with clothing and fragrances valued at more than $509 without paying at TJ Maxx. He was stopped, arrested and charged with petit larceny.
PROWLER: Police were called over a prowler observed on James Avenue in DeVeaux at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. They saw a suspicious male near Washington Street and Lewiston Road. He was asked for ID, brought back to the scene, identified and charged with trespassing and criminal possession of burglar tools.
OFFENDER OFFENDED: Police were called to a Buffalo Avenue apartment building where a resident reported he was being harassed by a neighbor at about 10:24 p.m. Wednesday. The victim said the suspect had been harassing him for at least 6 weeks because of his sex offender status. The victim played a recording for police of the suspect saying “do something and I will stab the fuck out of you.” He also allegedly said “I kill fucking people like you. I am the real predador.” Notes taped to the walls in the hallway around the victim’s apartment made allegations about the victim’s status as a sex offender. Police were in the victim’s apartment interviewing him when the suspect began banging on the door making threats and calling the victim offensive names. Police exited the apartment, took the suspect into custody and charged him with stalking. They gave the suspect a full stay away order.
ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Police patrolling Niagara Falls Boulevard because of recent accidents at about 12:17 a.m. Friday observed a Lexus with illegally tinted window make an improper right on red and move into the wrong lane. The driver admitted his license was suspended. A DMV check revealed 4 suspensions and 3 scoffs on 2 dates as well as an active bench warrant from Niagara Falls and an arrest warrant from Kenmore. The suspect was charged with no license, illegal tint/nontransparent windows, improper right turn, aggravated unlicensed operation, no seatbelt and passing a redlight.
