Congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a good start to this football season.
This weekend, there is the annual Blues Festival that will be occurring on Old Falls Street, starting at 1 o'clock on Saturday, and going through the entire day. There will be music and entertainment events all along Fall Street. So come on down, enjoy free music and a festival atmosphere this weekend.
The weather is expected to be pleasant for everyone. This year they're also adding a bourbon tasting, which will be occurring inside the convention center. It's a little bit of an addition to the Blues Festival, so come on down and enjoy that on Old Fall Street on Saturday.
Grass cutting and cleanup continue
We are continuing to go through the city, attending to tagged properties that require grass cutting and cleanup. That's a really incredible task when you think about it. We've probably.
It's in the hundreds, right? Well over 400 properties that we've cleaned. And I'm sure as I see them, as you see them, there are many, many more that we can continue to go through.
The clean team's out there, the third party contractor's out there. And so we'll continue to clean up those properties. And, you know, obviously citizen help, volunteer help is always appreciated. It's all our city. And so if there's something that you can do, please feel free to do it. Again, really the condition of our city really depends on all of us. So any way that you may want to pitch in, you or a group that you belong to may want to pitch in, that's always appreciated as well.
Blues Festival Saturday
Other than that, it will be a quiet weekend in the Blues Festival as we start to slowly slip into the beginning of fall-like weather.
Be careful on the road
So I'm going to, again, you know, just this past week, last weekend rather, we had another serious incident on the road and really and truly it's a function of all of us being a little bit more defensive in terms of the way we operate. That's a tragedy that happened and we can avoid those things working together to make the roads safer. So as I
I know that I say this each and every week, so I guess I'll just repeat myself again. The safety of the road really depends upon each and every one of us, whether you're on a bicycle, an e-vehicle, a motor vehicle, even if you're walking.
We have directional signals at many of our major intersections. They're there for you to use so that you can safely cross the street. So let's just take it upon ourselves to really work hard at making sure that our roadways are safe, that all of us get to where we want to be safely so that we can continue on with our day without any unfortunate incidents or tragedies.
So, again, we're expecting a pretty mild weekend. I invite everybody to come on down to the Blues Festival. It's always a good time, so I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. And other than that, please be safe out there, and I look forward to talking to you again next week.
