Niagara Falls Police Blotter

LEAVING THE SCENE: An Elmwood Avenue resident was taken into custody at about 10:22 a.m. Tuesday following a bizarre incident. Police were patrolling on Pine Avenue when a vehicle crossed the center line and came at them head on before swerving away. The officer executed a 3-point turn and tried to catch the driver. Shortly thereafter, a car was reported crashed into a pole in the Key Bank lot on Main Street. No driver was present but police became aware the suspect had fled to a nearby home and followed a trail of blood there. The suspect was highly uncooperative and yelling obscenities. She told police she was driving unreasonably because her dog was injured and she did not have money to pay for a vet. She was charged with failure to use a designated lane, unregistered, improper plates, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to keep right and driving without a license.

OOPS AGAIN: The suspect from the Tuesday incident above was arrested again on Wednesday at 9:01 a.m. on a charge of criminal contempt for violating an order of protection at a Whitney Avenue address following a dispute involving an order of protection. She ranted, raved and was generally uncooperative.

RESISTING: A Whitney Avenue man, observed operating a vehicle with a defective taillight, fled down Market Street and onto 19th at 12:05 a.m. Thursday. He was uncooperative and taken into custody with force. He was charged with resisting arrest. The report did not list traffic charges.
