Today’s photos are from the Cave of the Winds. We visited Saturday as part of Birds on the Niagara.
We nabbed than the merganser triple, red breasted, hooded and common and also saw golden eye and bufflehead. There is so much ice in the river the gulls are way, way out but the lesser black back gulls are still near Three Sisters Island.
Park rangers were out in force with spotting scopes and binoculars but we didn’t see any birders we know. Here’s a link to the schedule. https://bird-niagara.org/2026-festival-u-s-schedule/
Moderate rain, with a high of 46 and low of 37 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Patchy sleet nearby in the morning, light sleet showers during the afternoon, patchy rain nearby during the evening,
Nothing Ever Gets Better: That sums up the last 20+ years in Niagara Falls. Corrupt government officials. Mismanaged funds. Crumbling Infrastructure. Businesses fleeing the city.
Took a hike from Whirlpool earlier in the week, first time down and up those steps. It was definitely leg day, and I think my Mutt qualified as a service dog dragging me back up!
Thank you, Sharon & Tom!
