Milstein company goes bankrupt

(Editor’s note: This is not an exact transcription but close. If you are interested in the lawsuit mentioned here is a link. https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/business/2025/11/24/former-jack-nic…)

“One of the things that came across the news feed is something we are used to in Niagara Falls is Jack Nicklaus won a lawsuit against the Milstein companies for $50 million over defamation and use of his name, image and likeness.

“One of the things we are used to is that whenever the Milstein Group loses in court they do what they always do, try to drag it out even more and so just late yesterday, we learned that in that case, the Milstein Group has decided to file bankruptcy.

“So in that case they decided to deprive people in Long Island of the equity in their homes and they decided when they lose at the trial level to appeal it all they way until they finally lose again and here, they lose as far as Mr. Nicklaus so they are going to draw it out again.

“And here, again in Niagara Falls, they lost as far as the eminent domain. They lost in Sept. 2024 and they’ve done nothing but try to slow everything down. We aren’t the only ones subjected to that sort of nonsense. They do it everywhere. It is their standard operating procedure.”

About the weather

“Going into the holiday the weather is going to be a little bit cooler and rainy so if you are going to be out and around, and there are people to visit at family gatherings, please be careful, be safe because of the way the weather will be. I know that south of us they are expecting a bit more snow.

“ I don’t know that that is necessarily being forecasted for us but again, when you are out and around, Thanksgiving is always a busy time so not just people traveling long distances but people around in our region traveling one place to the next just be careful.

“With the closing of that bridge on the Thruway, a lot more traffic is being funneled into the city so with people looking for alternate routes there are a lot more cars on the road in our city. Just be careful with that. It’s better that you get there safe and a little late than maybe have something else happen so just be careful.

“Remember city hall will be open again Friday. Happy Thanksgiving. Take the time to be thankful for the things that you have. Take the time to be thankful. Realize there are people who have a lot less than we all have. Enjoy your families and I look forward to talking to you again next week.

I guess with this administration it is do as i say and not as i do. The mayor criticizes Millstein for appealing court cases, calling it delaying yet how many times did the golf course case get stalled and appealed? How about all the PERB cases the USW has to file because this adminiatration wants to "take everything to court"? Pot calling the kettle black here i believe! Have a great day!
