CANDY THEFT: Police were called to Family Dollar at 8:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of petit larceny. An Elmwood Avenue resident was spotted on Jerauld Avenue. He said to police “if I give it back, will they not charge me.” Candy valued at $131.76 was recovered. He was charged with petit larceny.

WRONG BIKE: At 5:19 p.m Wednesday an officer leaving the lot behind the police station observed a man on a motorcycle yelling at a bicyclist who was riding on the sidewalk, alleging it was a stolen bike. The officer tried to stop the cyclist who refused to get off the bike. Eventually, he was taken to the ground by force. He claimed the bike was his cousin’s. The motorcyclist said the bike matched the description of one just stolen. The owner of the stolen bicycle arrived on the seen and observed it was not her bike because the valve stem caps were a different color. The suspect was charged with obstructing governmental administration.

DWI: At 4:36 p.m. Wednesday police were called to Buck’s Pizza for a report of an accident on Pierce Avenue. They found the driver pacing on the lawn where his car was parked, asking “Where am I?” and saying “I’m fine. I’m fine.” He submitted to a breath test and blew a 0.0 he was still charged with DWI alcohol or drugs.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE: Police on patrol on Willow Avenue were alerted to a stolen vehicle by a plate reader. While monitoring it, they observed a man appear and enter the vehicle at about 1:25 p.m. Tuesday. The man was approached and claimed it was his brother’s car. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Buffalo International Airport and was owned by Enterprise. The suspect in question had the keys in his possession and was taken into custody on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
