CHANGING STORIES: Police on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 7 p.m. Thursday near the 190 entrance pulled over an Audi with a suspected stolen Ontario plate. The occupants, residents of Weston Avenue and Krull Parkway. The driver said he was driving the car for his baby momma, who was in the passenger seat. There was a child in the rear seat. He claimed he rented the car in Canada through Turo. The passenger then said she had purchased the car in Buffalo from “somebody.” After a few moments, their stories changed again. The 2016 Audi A5 was found not to be registered, insured or inspected and had illegally tinted windows. The child was given to a relative. The suspects were taken into custody. Additional charges included criminal possession of stolen property, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without proper endorsement for passengers or cargo, and operating with a single license plate.
SHOPLIFTING: Police were called to Tops Niagara Falls Boulevard for a report of petit larceny at about 4:08 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect, a Hamilton, Ontario woman, allegedly attempted to leave the store with goods valued at more than $140. She was charged with petit larceny.
