Great music in Lewiston

Barry Entertainment Productions and Events is becoming a musical juggernaut in Lewiston. With shows at Academy Park and Gallo Restaurant.

We first became aware of Ray Barry a year ago at the Lewiston Opera Hall. Then we saw him crop up in an Eagles Tribute and promoting some music.

A few years ago, we wandered around Youngstown listening to music. That was him, too.

Saturday is the biggest yet with Junior Marvin and the Wailers closing up a day of rhythm and roots. The bill also includes Organ Fairchild, Neville Francis, Tony Duncan, Tonemah and Bub.

Junior Marvin is fronting the current iteration of The Wailers, best known as Bob Marley’s band.

There are live bands Wednesday's in Academy Park as well.

Berry is filling a niche that has missing since Artpark stopped doing free shows on Tuesdays about 10 years ago, live free music in Lewiston.

If you want a more intimate experience, you can buy VIP tickets for Saturday for $25 here and have access to reserved seating. https://www.ticketspotapp.com/calendar/wya7n?

Just more than a month ago, Berry brought Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies to the Alphonse DiMino stage. It was a great show.

A word for the good of the community: The shows are free because of sponsors, and because patrons support vendors selling food and drink. Leave that cooler of beer home and buy some food from Syros and GhaddaHaveit or one of the other vendors like the Yummm Truck. That way, they can all turn a small profit, Berry can too and the shows will stay free.
