Falls Democrats endorse Myles
The Niagara Falls Democratic Party hosted its endorsement meeting on Friday night.
The committee interviewed 6 candidates for three seats as well as considering the County Legislature and city judge.
Endorsed for council are:
John Kinney, former DPW superintendent.
Noah Munoz, leader of the Heritage Team Real Estate.
Bridget Myles, a political newcomer with experience working in city hall.
Incumbents Jeffrey Elder, 4th District and Christoper Robins, 5th also got the nod as did Sam Farruggia, a Niagara Falls Firefighter and member of the Firefighters’ union leadership.
For City Court Judge, the committee got in line with incumbent Danielle Restaino and Jason Cafarella, a Niagara Falls firefighter and attorney who have the Republican endorsement.
Restaino is the daughter of Mayor Robert Restaino.
Notably, the committee chose not to endorse incumbent Donta Myles, who interviewed but did not get the endorsement in a reportedly unanimous vote. It is unknown if any other candidate will be mounting a primary challenge.
Myles has consistently been the most outspoken member of the city council, standing up for the entire city, not just the 4th district.
The 6th Legislature seat is being vacated by Chris Voccio who is leaving office after 4 years on the council and 4 on the Legislature.
