NIAGARA FALLS, NY – The Niagara Falls Small Business Property Improvement Grant Program, an initiative announced by Governor Kathy Hochul, is hosting an information session on Friday, May 22nd at 10 AM at glidE2 Innovation and Maker Space, 616 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
The program provides grants of up to 50% of total project costs, up to $100,000 per property, to eligible small businesses to foster revitalization of traditional mixed-use business districts. The funds for small businesses and property owners can be used for commercial improvements such as facade restoration and other mixed-use building upgrades.
Eligible projects must be located on Pine Avenue from Whirlpool Street to Hyde Park Boulevard including the City Market, Main Street from Ferry Avenue to Portage Road, and Portage Road from Main Street to Pine Avenue.
To date, the NFSBPIP has distributed $370,000+ in grant funding to six projects on Pine Avenue, Main Street, and downtown Niagara Falls that total more than $758,600 in overall project costs to eligible small businesses to foster revitalization of traditional mixed-use business districts.
“Small business owners and property owners need to take advantage of this program. Revitalizing our business district is essential for the continued growth of our city,” stated City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino. “Our partners will walk you through each step of the application process. We look forward to welcoming more private-public partnerships that generate economic activity.”
The information session will include a brief presentation, Q&A, and an opportunity to interact with and discuss potential projects with program administrators.
