A nail driving contest?
NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. The Niagara Regional Construction Alliance (NRCA) announced today that its annual Summer Picnic will return on June 24, 2026, at West Canal Marina in North Tonawanda, NY. This year, the event takes on a new dimension: the beloved Nail Driving Contest has been reimagined as a team-based fundraising competition to benefit United Way of Greater Niagara.
The Summer Picnic has long served as a cornerstone event for the skilled trades community across Niagara and Western New York. In 2026, it will once again unite contractors, tradespeople, business owners, and community partners for an afternoon of food, networking, and friendly competition—this time with proceeds from the Nail Driving Contest supporting a cause that strengthens local families.
"Every year, the Nail Driving Contest is the moment everyone talks about,” said Larry Quigliano, Board Member/Treasurer for NRCA. “This summer, we are turning that energy into something that matters beyond bragging rights. Every dollar raised stays right here in Niagara County and goes directly to programs that support kids," said Quigliano.
Teams of three can register for $50. Individuals, companies, and family members who cannot attend in person are encouraged to sponsor a team or individual competitor at marketingwny.com/sponsor.
