Niagara Falls Police Blotter

(Editor's Note: The Express is grateful for the Niagara Falls Police Department sending reports but we can only catch up when they do. This is the only submission from the last week.)

TRAFFIC STOP: An officer on patrol near Niagara Avenue and 18th Street was alerted by an automatic plate reader to a suspended registration just after noon Friday. The driver, a 30-year-old Rainbow Boulevard man, was stopped and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and driving with a suspended registration.

TRAFFIC STOP: Police on patrol in the 4600 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 3:20 a.m. last Saturday ran the plates on a Camaro and executed a traffic stop charging a 20-year-old Jerauld Avenue resident with driving with driving with improper plates and an improper license.

TRAFFIC STOP: A car driving in circles in the parking lot of Hometown Grocery on Whitney Avenue was stopped by police at about 1:52 a.m. last Sunday. The driver, a 50-year-old Buffalo man was charged with improper plates, no insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, no inspection and aggravated unlicensed observation.

TRAFFIC STOP: Officers patrolling on Ferry Avenue reported a license plate reader alerted them to a suspended registration at about 12:30 p.m. last Sunday. A 49 year old 22nd Street resident was charged with driving with a suspended registration, no insurance and aggravated unlicensed observation.

SHOPLIFTER: Police were called to Portage Road Tops at about 8:10 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a shoplifter. A Beechwood Circle resident, 41, was charged with petit larceny.

ASSAULT: Police responded to an 80th Street address at about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of harassment. Upon arrival, it quickly became assault investigation. Roommates apparently fought over a spilled drink. One, a 28-year-old woman, punched the other in the face repeatedly. Here roommate’s face was battered. She was charged with assault.

SHOPLIFTER: A worker at Portage Road Tops reported a woman was observed attempting to leave the store without paying for a cart of goods. A 31-year-old Hyde Park woman was charged with petit larceny. Items valued at more than $111 were returned to the store.

SHOPLIFTER: Target employees on Niagara Falls Boulevard reported a shoplifter at about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday. A 77th St. Niagara Falls resident was charged with petit larceny. She attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at about $125.

TRAFFIC STOP: A van with no front plate was observed by police operating on Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 11:17 a.m Thursday. The driver, a Monroe Avenue woman, 21, was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, no license, no insurance, no inspection, failure to notify of an address change and driving with only one plate.
