Niagara Falls Police Blotter

MIXED MESSAGES: Officers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of 9th St. early Monday morning. The victim reported he heard what sounded like keys moving and a door closing in his apartment at about 2:45 a.m. He told police he called several people he thought might have borrowed the borrowed vehicle and did see someone on his security cameras take the van. Then he told officers he did not know how the cameras worked and that his wallet, containing $1,000 and several credit cards, was missing. Then he told police the perp might have entered through an unlocked basement window. Police observed undisturbed cobwebs and deemed that unlikely. The victim then said he had a friend coming to help with the camera and he didn’t want “these people” (meaning police) here and became uncooperative. He gave a deposition with limited info and explained he didn’t want people on the street to see him cooperating with law enforcement because they would retaliate. Missing is a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica.
