BE NICE TO COPS: Just after 9 p.m. Monday, police observed a VW Jetta being driven erratically on Lindbergh Avenue near 66th. After a traffic stop, Joseph Rodriguez, 18, was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid registration or insurance. Rodriguez allegedly became angry and belligerent toward officers and attempted to drive away. Police took his keys. According to the report. Rodriguez shouted obscene and racist remarks at officers and attempted to flee the scene only to return and say he forgot his wallet. He reached between the seats and attempted to grab an alleged scale.

Police attempted to arrest him but he allegedly resisted being handcuffed. As it went down, another vehicle containing 4 males approached the scene. People from the car allegedly attempted to harass and interfere with the arrest. A few minutes later, an older white male arrived on the scene and began yelling at officers. Police called for backup for what had become a hostile, volatile scene. Rodriguez was charged with no registration and no insurance as well as resisting arrest and reckless driving. Police also arrested Christopher M. Reeves, 47, of 6706 Lindbergh Ave. and Hunter Patrick Reeves, 17, of the same arrest but charges were not listed on the report.

NICE POOCH: Police responded to a complaint about an abused dog on 79th Street. The animal was alleged to be malnourished and left outdoors all the time. On Monday, the animal was checked. The 1-year old German short-haired pointer on a leash and loves to be in the owner’s fenced yard. The dog had food and water but no outdoor shelter. The owner said the animal will sit in front of the door and bark until let out and is in and out all day. The complaint of animal cruelty was unfounded.

BROKEN WINDOW: Sometime between 12:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Monday someone threw a brick through the rear window of a Nissan Sentra parked in a driveway.

LOCK YOUR CAR: A Cleveland Avenue resident reported credit cards and an airpod taken from her unlocked vehicle in the Sunday/Monday overnight.

NOT A SAMARITAN: A Falls senior shopping at a Portage Road grocery store accepted the help of a stranger loading her groceries into a cab at about 10 a.m. Sunday. The stranger took her wallet. The victim uses a walker and could not give chase. Personal ID and $155 in cash were taken.
