The State Parks Scaling Team is back at it for another season.

Workers rapel into the gorge wearing helmes and carrying pikes to knock rock free from the face of the cliff walls.

The slow-eroding dolomite cap create an overhang as the softer rock erodes below. The result is crews not only have to hang from the ropes but swing in order to reach the work surface.

On Terrapin Point near the Nikola Tesla statue, six workers were observed knocking loose rock off the gorge wall above the site of the Cave of the Winds attraction.
