Niagara Falls Police Blotter

WARRANT: Officers on patrol at 1:10 p.m. Saturday observed an Ashland Avenue resident riding a bicycle and, recognizing him and knowing he was wanted on a warrant, attempted to stop him. The suspect fled. Police captured him off 19th Street and served his warrant in addition to charging him with resisting arrest.

FREQUENT FLYER: Police were called to McDonald’s Pine Avenue at about 1:50 p.m. Saturday where Twon Collins Washington of Centre Court was allegedly inside and, according to dispatch “throwing tables signs and screaming.” Washington was taken into custody on a charge of criminal trespass and held because he had more than two “failure to appear” charges in the last year.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Fort Avenue man was tracked down on Osborne Court at about 4:25 p.m. Saturday, placed in a patrol car and brought back to a Fort Avenue address where witnesses alleged he had broken a car window valued at $250. He was charged with criminal mischief.

PETIT LARCENY: Police were called to Target at 6 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shoplifter in custody. A Chapin Avenue woman was charged with petit larceny for allegedly taking items valued at $146.14 without paying.

BURGLARY: A resident of the 500 block of 4th Street reported Monday he has moved out of the apartment because he had been robbed and did not feel safe. Two men had been staying in the residence. They were told they could not stay. The locks were changed. When he returned to the dwelling to gather some belongings, the victim discovered the door kicked in, $50 in cash missing as well as sheets valued at $50 and other items. He did not know the name of the people who has been staying with him.

CAT FIGHT: Police were called to a Niagara Avenue address at about 7:15 p.m. Monday after an apartment door was kicked in by a woman wearing a grey hoodie who fled the scene. The apartment dweller said her daughter had been involved in a dispute over a stray cat.

BURGLARY: Police were called to Family Dollar on Portage Road at about 6:49 p.m. Monday for a report of petit larceny. A 22nd Street man was charged after he allegedly took clothing without paying. Police located him changing his clothes on the east side of 901 Cedar and brought him back to the scene for identification. He was charged with burglary and petit larceny.
