DICAMILLO’S LARCENY: At about 5 p.m. Monday, a black male behaving as if he was on narcotics entered DiCamillo’s on Linwood, paced back and forth, grabbed the employee tip jar and fled the scene. Employees tried to stop the suspect from fleeing but he pedaled away on a bicycle. Police located the suspect on Pierce Avenue. He threw the loot, $14 but was taken into custody and returned to the scene where he was charged with petit larceny.
ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Police on patrol near Niagara Falls Boulevard and 61st Street were alerted by a plate reader to a vehicle with a suspended registration. The suspect, a Haeberle Avenue woman, was also charged with driving without insurance at 6:01 p.m. Sunday.
FALSE PERSONATION: Police were called to Target at 11:07 a.m. Sunday for a report of a known shoplifter inside the store. When police arrived, the suspect had walked away from the store. He was located in front of Dunne Tire and told police his name was Fleetwood LaFlair. The suspect, a Pierce Avenue man, had a trespass notice from Walmart and was wanted on a warrant out of Batavia. Police took him into custody on a charge of false personation and held him for Batavia.
DWI: At 8:23 p.m. Sunday, at 18th Street and Pierce Avenue police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle rollover. Police were advised at the scene that a heavyset black male in black clothing with white shoes had walked away from the 2016 Cadillac. A neighbor who heard the crash provided police with cellphone video of the suspect walking away from the scene. A short time late, the suspect returned to the scene. He had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He told police he was in an altercation at Hyde Park and Ontario and his vehicle had been stolen from him. Police performed field sobriety tests which the suspect failed. He refused a breathalyzer and became uncooperative. At the police station, he became aggressive toward officers and would not even allow fingerprinting. He was sent to the male cell to cool off. The suspect was charged with driving while intoxicated.
NEIGHBOR TROUBLE: A Niagara Street resident reported at about 1:58 a.m. Monday his upstairs neighbor pounded on his door and then kicked it in. The suspect was charged with criminal mischief and trespassing.
