Niagara Falls Police Blotter

PETIT LARCENY: Police were called to Pine Avenue 7/11 at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday for a report of petit larceny. Police were shown a video by store personnel and apprehended the suspects nearby. One of them was found in possession of candy valued at $171.

RESISTING ARREST: Police were on patrol on Lindbergh Avenue when they observed a man riding a bicycle who was known to be wanted on a warrant at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. Police activated emergency lights. The suspect ran. Police chased. In addition to the warrant the suspect gained a charge of resisting arrest and police got to fill out a “use of force” form for how they took the suspect into custody.

DWI: At 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police were conducting speed enforcement in a 40 mph zone when radar showed an SUV traveling at 63 mph. The 2023 Equinox turned south on 66th and pulled into a parking lot between spaces. The driver said she’d been at a birthday party on Cleveland Avenue and was driving home to 82nd Street. She told police she had “one drink and one shot” an hour earlier. Police observed glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The suspect failed field sobriety tests and inhaled rather than exhaling. Then she asked police “do I have to do this?” When told no, she explained “I’m not going to do this. I am a bus driver. I can’t have anything dirty.” She reiterated her refusal. Her vehicle was seized as was her Class B drivers license. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding.
