Niagara Falls Police Blotter

MONDAY DWI: Police were called to 4600 Hyde Park Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Monday for a report of a domestic dispute. Only one party was on the scene but while officers were there, a tan SUV entered the parking lot, dropped off a passenger, made a U-turn and fled. Police followed the vehicle and attempted a stop. The suspect ran a redlight at Fairfield Avenue before pulling over near 900 Ontario in a no standing zone and fleeing on foot. The suspect was forcefully taken into custody and charged with obstructing governmental administration, stopping/standing/parking violation, aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving, failure to give half the road to traffic, driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and running a redlight. The suspect refused field sobriety tests.

PETIT LARCENY: Police were called to Target at 2:26 p.m. Monday for a report of a shoplifter. A Chapin Avenue resident allegedly failed to scan all her items at the self-checkout, attempting to take items valued at $95.79 without paying and being charged with petit larceny.
