About the coming storm

As a bunch of rain and wind approaches and potentially snow weather comes after, it is worth celebrating.

I love when out-of-town friends and family ask “why would you choose to live in Buffalo, New York?”

My rote answer is always “the weather.”

As John Steinbeck said so eloquently, “I've lived in good climate, and it bores the hell out of me. I like weather rather than climate.”

State Parks is hosting a First Day Hike at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 1 at Whirlpool State Park. It will be about 3 miles.

It gives me great joy to be able to say “hey, take a walk in our front yard” and to boast I don’t need to make a special trip to go for a walk with Gord.

Here’s a link to the State Park’s Website in case you are interesting in hiking somewhere else like Letchworth or any of the other sites everywhere. https://parks.ny.gov/visit/events?page=29
