The World According to Bob
(Editor’s note: Each week Niagara Falls Mayor Bob Restaino posts a Youtube missive regarding city government. The Express transcribes for anyone who doesn’t care to watch.)
On the weather
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. The weather is getting colder now and again, I’ll touch on this before closing but let’s bring our winter driving skills into play, even if it’s not snowing, if there is any moisture on the street whether the trucks are salting or not, as the wind blows, and it’s been pretty windy, anything can freeze over so as you approach intersections, traffic signals all of those things go with a little more caution. Again, it is better you get to your destination safely rather than rushing.
Magic show tonight
The staff at the public library has an event for the community, Santa and a Magic Show, today at 6:30 p.m. at the LaSalle library. Face painting, balloon animals, Santa, pictures and a magic show.
Leaf pickup continues
We continue leaf pickup but schedules are thrown off by the weather. They are still collecting as many leaves as we can.
Labor contracts settled
Three out of the 4 labor contracts are complete.
“We are happy to get that taken care of. We are happy to negotiate contracts that are respectful of their needs as well as the taxpayers and we continue to work toward finishing several other contracts that will be coming up over the next several months.
More about the weather
Remember as you are out and about people operating scooters, bicycles there are a number of other vehicles operating not just cars. If you are aware of family, neighbors, seniors check in on them.
