ATV Chase: Police observed a black and yellow ATV operating in the 1700 block of Elmwood Avenue at about 2:25 p.m. Wednesday and attempted to execute a traffic stop. The ATV ran but kept hydro planing/fishtailing because of rain and water. Police followed at a safe distance but eventually spun out and collided with a fence in the 800 block of 20th Street. The driver tried to continue fleeing but was taken into custody. He did say “I’m sorry for running.” Charges include operating a ATV/Motorcycle not street legal, failure to stop at a stopsign, improper/no lights, speed not reasonable, passing on the left, unlawful operation of an ATV on a public highway, failure to insure a limited use vehicle, operating an unregistered ATV and criminal mischief for damaging the fence.
GRAND LARCENY: A Rochester woman left Target with a cart filled with more than $1,000 in merchandise at about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday. She was tracked down in the plaza near Fuji Grill, taken into custody and transported back to Target where she was identified, served with a no trespassing notice and charged with grand larceny.
