This isn't self-plagiarism and I'll tell you why

My Substack posts are not marvels of magnificent messaging, but I try to adhere to some fundamental rules of credibility. That means giving source credit for images and quotes that I did not create. What about stuff I did make? Do I have to admit that the colored cartoon above is virtually identical to a cartoon I created over thirty years ago?

Of course not! But then I wouldn’t have the opportunity to show you how I reworked my old cartoon into something up-to-date and for a new audience. I even caught an ancient typo changing “of of” to “off of.” Better late than never.
