Police are searching for details after a vehicle was located late Monday morning submerged in the Niagara River near the Scenic Parkway’s Bird Overlook.
A vehicle was found at 10:49 a.m. by a State Park Police Marine unit 50 feet from shore, after close to two hours of searching, according to a State Park Police press release. It originally was reported to police that a Jeep pickup had driven off the parkway and into the river around 9:15 a.m., though police have not confirmed what type of vehicle was found.
There also has been no confirmation whether any occupants have been found.
Responders to the scene included State Police and park police underwater recovery teams, rescue boat, helicopter, Niagara Falls Police and Fire Departments, and New York Power Authority.
According to police, the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is handling the investigation.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 70 and low of 56 degrees. Sunny in the morning, overcast for the afternoon, clear overnight.
I think it is a wonderful idea as long as the maintain it. Some of the beautiful murals downtown need to be touch up.
Try and share at least two more pages of your notes. There was a lot that was shared. I am looking forward to more people coming out to vote. A portion of the candidates have already been out door knocking and engaging in multiple non political events. This is shaping up to be a tight race.
I hope you are right. I am skeptical about how tight the race is because of how few people vote. In spite of all the time I have spent thinking, and writing, I still can't tell you for whom I might vote. Our choices are not clearly defined. I am grateful for the people workiing for the betterment of our community.
