Petrozzi, Parks to face off for Legislature
Rus Petrozzi, Niagara Falls School Board member, Capitol Cleaners operator, and all-around good guy announced his candidacy for 5th District Niagara County Legislature on Tuesday, seeking to replace Chris Robins, who is retiring.
Robbins is also retiring from his career as an educator in Niagara Falls Public Schools. In the last year, he has been on special assignment outside the classroom mentoring young teachers. He was unopposed last election cycle.
Petrozzi is running as a Republican and will be facing off with Town of Niagara Councilperson Johnny Parks, a youth leader and community organizer from the Town of Niagara.
Every seat in the legislature is up this year with everyone elected last November now needing to run again for a 4-year term.
The Express will interview and profile any candidate seeking a Legislature seat representing Niagara Falls, the Town of Niagara, Wheatfield, Lewiston, Sanborn or Youngstown.
