Sometimes life in Niagara Falls brings happy little bonuses. No, not just an unexpected rainbow in the distance (I saw that this week too) but a couple from Gaylord, Mich.
They proudly recreated honeymoon photos from 49 years ago on the Maid of the Mist.
They brought faded photos from 1976 to reenact and chat with anyone who was interested, celebrating 5 decades of life and love.
Asked where they were from they did the Michigander thing and held up a hand to show the shape of the state and point to home, about 40 minutes south of the Mackinac bridge.
I'm so happy that one of my favorite derelict houses may get new life! It's such a great location. "A genius child is never loved."
Sunny, with a high of 83 and low of 47 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear during the afternoon and evening,
Great idea. My concern is will the dollars and manpower be there to spruce this up every spring? Paint doesn't adhere to blacktop well. Throw in winter conditions along with plows scraping the pavement, salt and exposure to summer elements which are bound to take their toll. Will this be guaranteed?
Great and legitimate questions. I don't know the answer. I am hoping if the paint doesn't hold it just fades. That intersection scares me when I pass it multiple times every week
