Gospel Mission heroes

Niagara Falls, NY — January 16, 2026 — In response to the heavy snowstorm on January 15, members of Niagara Gospel Mission’s RECON Discipleship Program stepped out in service, voluntarily assisting two local churches with snow removal efforts.

Approximately 10 men from the RECON program went out during the storm to shovel, salt, and scrape sidewalks and parking lots, helping ensure the properties were safe and accessible for church members and the surrounding community.

This outreach was a meaningful opportunity for the men in RECON to give back to the local churches that regularly support Niagara Gospel Mission, and to put into practice the program’s emphasis on discipleship, personal responsibility, and servant leadership.

“Moments like this reflect the heart of what we are building in our recovery program,” said Rev. John Cooper, Executive Director of Niagara Gospel Mission. “These men chose to serve these churches without being asked, and they did it with gratitude and joy. It’s a powerful picture of what Gospel transformation looks like—men learning to love their neighbors and honor those in our community that have stood with this Mission.”

Niagara Gospel Mission is grateful for the ongoing partnership of local churches, businesses and individuals throughout Niagara County and remains committed to strengthening the community through Gospel-centered ministry, practical service, and life transformation.
