I stopped to visit the community archives drive at Heritage Realty on Sunday, mostly because of the samosas from 777 Bazaar on Main Street, but also because our history matters.
The event was put together by the Niagara National Heritage Area where Amie Gustafson has been collecting data and stories and collating a history of this place.
Guests came by to visit, learn about the Turtle, the State Archives now housed inside the state park and lots of other details.
I was particularly interested in a gentleman who came to tell about his family’s history was shaped by the various movie theaters that existed over the years.
Amy Castonguay was the as a volunteer conducting oral interviews that will be compiled as part of the project with a special focus on gathering information from older residents because those are the memories that will be the soonest to fade.

Try and share at least two more pages of your notes. There was a lot that was shared. I am looking forward to more people coming out to vote. A portion of the candidates have already been out door knocking and engaging in multiple non political events. This is shaping up to be a tight race.
I hope you are right. I am skeptical about how tight the race is because of how few people vote. In spite of all the time I have spent thinking, and writing, I still can't tell you for whom I might vote. Our choices are not clearly defined. I am grateful for the people workiing for the betterment of our community.

I'm so happy that one of my favorite derelict houses may get new life! It's such a great location. "A genius child is never loved."
