I was outside gardening Saturday morning when I heard the distinct sound of a marching band in the distance.
I hopped on my bike and headed for DeVeaux Woods.
Sure enough, Niagara Falls Little League was having its season-opening parade.
Cars lined both sides of Lewiston Road from Findlay Drive almost to College Avenue. Between kids and families there had to be 300 people there.
I turned around and rode home, returning with Gord. They had a picnic, DJ, bounce houses, hot dogs and generally a good time.
The league moved its opening day to DeVeaux for the first time in 15 or 16 years. It is a great scene in a great community.
Sunny, with a high of 63 and low of 44 degrees. Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy overnight.
I continue to be amazed by how much energy this event has generated.
