About e-bike regulations
I am in favor of laws that protect us but there is a side of the debate I don’t understand.
How are far-right suburban Republicans in places like Clarence so much in favor of new e-bike regulation?
The same people who tell us seatbelts, motorcycle helmets, vaccines, and fluoride are all bad and guns are good are now telling me I need more rules to govern how and where I ride my bike. What an interesting double standard.
Watersnakes
Walking Three Sisters Islands recently, guests pointed out healthy looking snakes on the steps on Asenath Island.
People often misidentify them. Watersnakes have a diamond pattern that sometimes is mistaken for rattlesnakes. They are not venomous but can be nasty if you mess with them
Whirlpool walks
I don’t think I will be there this week but there will be a Community Engagement Walk leaving the Whirlpool State Park parking lot at 10 a.m.
The idea is to gather, leave together on time with Uniquia Lewis and then walk at your own pace.
It is a journey, not a race. Show up. Then take your time.
Bike update
With the help of GoBike Buffalo, I sent the Specialized Como motor to Ebike Motor Repair near Nashville for major overhaul. It was worn out.
I also ordered a 2022 Gazelle Medeo that should be here in about a week.
Kodak
I dropped it a few times on social media, but if anyone reading this knows a current Kodak employee or someone collecting a pension, let me know.
You have certain rights and a lot at risk and likely need the assistance of a fiduciary to advise you how to protect your interests and retirement income in the most tax efficient way possible.
Failing at sunflowers
I tried to plant several different sunflower varieties direct into the soil this year and succeeded not at all.
Dahlia’s appear to be thriving
My attempt at hollyhocks failed as well. Maybe next year.
Tour tales
Monday I had Latino guests from California. They arrived here in a diesel Sprinter van, having driven from LA via New Orleans.
The Matriarch said it was her van. She had her mom and 4 kids with her. Her children ranged from 11 to 31. She was 46.
A decade ago, she was doing tax prep as as a side hustle when she realized how much her dad and uncle were making a living driving truck. She did their taxes, saw how much they were making and wondered.
Her dad said women don’t get into that business. She went to driving school and bought a truck. Now she has 3. Dad works for her. Here’s to strong women.
