HOMELESS TROUBLE: A homeless man was arrested at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday outside the Sheraton on Third Street after he was allegedly observed taking coins from the Crocodile Pond at Rain Forest Cafe. When confronted by guard, the suspect became hostile and, after being escorted outside, aggressive. The guard pepper-sprayed the suspect who fled the scene. When police arrived, the suspect returned. He tried to explain he was exchanging a US dollar for an Australian one. Police charged him with petit larceny, burglary, harassment and menacing.

MOTORCYCLE CHASE: An officer on patrol at Hyde Park Boulevard and Packard Road observed a motorcycle without plates at about 11:16 a.m. Tuesday and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The cyclist fled and led police on a mult-jurisdiction chase that ended in North Tonawanda. Robshots followed the chase and got great photos.

WARRANT: Police observed a Youngstown man known to be wanted on a warrant driving near 11th Street and Niagara Avenue in Niagara Falls and attempted to execute a traffic stop at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday. The driver fled but eventually stopped. The suspect was charged with bail jumping, aggravated unlicensed operation, moving from a lane unsafely, stopping/standing/parking on a roadway and unlawfully fleeing a police officer.

HARRASMENT: A woman reported to police she went to the Coastal Station on 19th Street to buy cigarettes at about 2 a.m. Thursday when a man approached her, harassed her and flashed a firearm in his waistband. She returned home and called police who went to the scene, identified the suspect with a large group of people and took him into custody after he was ID'd by the victim. He was charged with menacing and harassment.

BAD BEHAVIOUR: Police on patrol near 600 19th Street observed a vehicle with a suspended registration at about 10:33 a.m. Thursday and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect attempted to walk away from the car, ignored police, shouted obscenities, returned to the car and attempted to slam the door on an officer’s hand. He was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration and driving with a suspended license/registration.
