NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Preservation Buffalo Niagara shared details on Wednesday regarding a new improvement program they are offering for Niagara Falls property owners.
The 'Vacant Rental Improvement Program' will help cover the expenses for renovating vacant apartments in Niagara Falls.
Priority will be given to applicants with the 14301 and 14305 zip codes, but all of those within Niagara Falls can apply, Preservation Buffalo Niagara said.
The program is available for residential and mixed use properties that have five units or less. The hope is that the program will help put vacant residential units back in service.
Grant funding of up to $50,000 is available if the completed unit will serve tenants under 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) and up to $75,000 if the unit will be rented to tenants under 60% AMI.
Property owners have until May 20 at 5 p.m. to apply and can click here for the form. Paper applications can be provided if needed by emailing VRP@pbnsaves.org.

Saw Neil last night. Outstanding performance!!. Not sure about your experience, but the CNE/Budweiser stage combo made for a nightmare leaving the venue.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 71 and low of 64 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Fog during the morning, overcast in the afternoon,
There is certainly room for debate about who is the better choice to run the Pavilion, and I am not going to enter into that one as I have no knowledge of either group.
Why don't you see any of this information in the Gazette? Do they also support the Mayor?
The Gazette has two reporters and if Rick Pfeiffer, who has been doing the work of 3 people for more than a decade, writes anything that reflects negatively on the mayor, he calls and complains to management.
