Niagara Falls Police Blotter
DWI: A sleeping driver with a bottle of Don Julio tequila, in a vehicle facing the wrong way on North Avenue at about 5:25 a.m. Friday. The driver was unresponsive and had a hard time following officers commands. The South Avenue resident, 35, knew he was in Niagara Falls but not where. He couldn’t say where he had been but said he was trying to go home. He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated.
NARCOTICS: Officers on patrol at 1:18 a.m. Saturday observed two men dragging a blue garbage tote down the street and stopped for a chat. A Grand Avenue man, 34, and his companion said he had been given the items by his uncle and was going to sell them. An investigation revealed a quantity of suspected narcotics as well a bolt cutters. Both were charged with possession of burglar tools. Additional charges are pending.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police recognized a vehicle familiar to them because of switched plates and a large Miami Dolphins sticker on Elmwood Avenue at about 2:14 a.m. Sunday and executed a traffic stop. The vehicle had no inspection, no registration and multiple open containers. The driver, a woman, 38, of 22nd Street was charged with no inspection, alcohol/cannibis in a vehicle, improper plates, no registration and aggravated unlicensed operation.
ILLEGAL PARKING: A truck was towed from a Jerauld Avenue residence where it was parked illegally on Thursday morning. The truck driver appeared while police awaited a tow and said he didn’t see any signs letting him know it was illegal to park there. Police had recieved multiple complaints about illegal parking.
TRESPASS/STOLEN PROPERTY: Police were called to the casino lat Sunday for a report of an unwanted party. A 59-year-old resident of the Niagara Gospel Mission was teken into custody on a charge of trespassing and criminal possession of stolen property.
