Mea culpa. I goofed up on the time for the budget meeting last night at city hall because I didn’t read the special meeting notice closely enough.
I also missed the candlelight vigil. If I was on the ball, I could have attended both.
Reading the Gazette this morning, the budget includes a homestead tax increase of about $54 on a home assessed at $100,000.
In other news, State Police wrote back to say any information on the two bodies found below the Horseshoe Falls during the initial search for Chianti Means and children on Tuesday will have to come from Park Police. No information has been released.
We can assume by the lack of news release that it was likely suicide because State Park Police, as policy, do not comment on such tragedy.
While it is generally accepted there is about 1 suicide a week at the Falls, 5 in a day is unprecedented.
