SHOPLIFTER: A 59-year-old Niagara Falls man was charged with petit larceny after allegedly attempting to take items from Tops Portage Road without paying at about 4:30 p.m. last Thursday.
TRAFFIC STOP: Officers on patrol at 3:20 a.m. observed a car roll through a stop sign on Pierce Avenue and executed a traffic stop. A 32-year-old Michigan Avenue man was charged with improper plates, driving with a suspended registration, no inspection and failure to stop at a stop sign.
MENACING: Police responded to a tenant dispute in the 500 block of 7th Street where a woman was taken into custody on charges of menacing with a weapon and harassment at about 4:10 p.m. Saturday. The suspect allegedly threatened her neighbor, saying “die bitch die” and wielding a 12-inch kitchen knife. The suspect allegedly told police “I haven’t slept in 3 days and I was angry.”
TRAFFIC STOP: Police on DWI patrol at 8 p.m. Saturday near the water treatment plan on Buffalo Avenue observed a car traveling 44 in a 30 mph zone and executed a traffic stop. A 39-year-old 90th Street resident was charged with speeding, aggravated unlicensed operation, alcohol/cannabis in a vehicle and excessively tinted glass. Police also confiscated a quantity of suspected narcotics.
DRUNK AND DISORDERLY: Police were called to a disturbance near 604 17th Street at about 11 p.m. Saturday. A 22-year-old 15th Street resident was stumbling and screaming obscenities. Police tried to calm the suspect but he became even more irate and allegedly attacked. He was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct/violent behavior. He was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial for alcohol evaluation.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Police were called to Midtown Motors for a report of criminal mischief at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday. A 63-year-old Portage Road resident was charged with criminal mischief. He was observed, on security video, scratching a car.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police on patrol on Pine Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday were alerted to a suspended registration by an automatic plate reader. A 24-year-old Chilton Avenue resident was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, no insurance and operating with a suspended registration.
ASSAULT: A man was charged with assault and criminal mischief following a dispute at a 94th Street residence at about 1:15 p.m. Monday.
SHOPLIFTER: Police were dispatched to Target for a report of a shoplifter at about 4:15 p.m. Monday. A Buffalo man, 47, and a Grand Island man, 44,were charged with petit larceny. A third suspect escaped.
SHOPLIFTER: An officer moonlighting as Walmart security at about 5:50 p.m. Monday after a 19-year-old 59th Street man attempted to leave the store without paying for a computer valued at $1,100. He was charged with grand larceny.
SHOPLIFTER: An officer moonlighting as Walmart security at about 10 p.m. Monday was alerted to a suspected shoplifter. A 25-year-old 77th Street woman was charged with petit larceny and burglary. Police also recovered a quantity of suspected narcotics.
