SHOPLIFTER: An off-duty Niagara Falls police officer moonlighting as Walmart security at about 4:45 p.m. Monday was alerted to a potential shoplifter. Lawrence Jordan, 66, of Buffalo was charged with petit larceny.
ATTEMPTED HYUNDAI THEFT: Police were called to Best Western Summit on Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 1 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a Hyundai with a broken rear window and a damaged steering column.
ATTEMPTED KIA THEFT: Police were called to Best Western Summit on Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 1 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a Kia with a broken rear window and a damaged steering column at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A resident of the 2100 block of Seneca Avenue reported someone broke into and trashed her vehicle Monday night doing more than $1,500 in damage.
ROBBERY: A woman leaving Portage Road Tops Friday morning reported a man approached her and stole her phone.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard observed a vehicle traveling at a fast speed and initiated a traffic stop. Maranda Guarino, 22, of 333 D St. was charged with driving without insurance.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer doing a premise check in the 1700 block of Pierce Avenue observed a suspicious male who when approached crossed the street other than at a crosswalk, started taking off clothing and fled from the scene. Duane Mays, 18, of 1500 Lockport Road fled the scene on foot. The chasing officer recovered Mays’ phone, jacket, t-shirt and sweatshirt. He was charged with failure to use a crosswalk and obstructing governmental administration.
