324 days without a drug murder in the hood. On Oct. 2, 2023 shooting on Pine Avenue. Robert Miller was the victim.
BURGLARY: The owner of a recently-renovated Niagara Avenue property reported someone broke into the dwelling and stole pipes and plumbing fixtures valued at about $4,000 sometime in the first two weeks of August.
LARCENY: A vehicle parked at 9455 Niagara Falls Blvd. was entered by someone who stole shoes, clothing and personal items valued at about $500.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police patrolling Pine Avenue at about midnight Saturday observed a Ford truck fishtailing and followed it into the alley where they conducted a traffic stop. Adailson Correa, 38, of 1511 Pine Ave. was charged with imprudent speed, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, operating without a license. Correa had no idea, only a Brazilian birth certificate. He spoke little English and smelled of alcohol. Officers determined Correa had entered the United States illegally. Border Patrol arrives to assist with translation. Correa had been paroled into the US and has an immigration court date in 2025.
DIRTBIKE STOLEN: Police were called to a Linwood Avenue residence at Saturday morning for a report of a dirtbike valued at about $2,500 being stolen.
BURGLARY: A 12th Street resident reported someone entered his home through a side window Saturday night as 8 family members slept, ate some cookies and stole electronics and meat.
BIKE STOLEN: A man shopping at Ollie’s at about 1 p.m. Saturday reported someone stole is lock-up e-bike valued at about $500.
OBSTRUCTING TRAFFIC: Officers were called to an area of the 900 block of Ontario Street at about 5:20 p.m. Saturday for a report of rocks obstructing the road. Verdis DeBose, 38, of 1519 LaSalle Ave. was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct, obstructing traffic.
ROBBERY: Police were called to City Market Liquors at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a robbery. A regular customer, Daniel Stewart, 61, of 1313 Main St. allegedly entered the store and attempted to leave without paying. When confronted, he allegedly hit the storekeeper over the head with a bottle. He was found nearby by police who confirmed the events by watching store security video. Stewart was charged with felony robbery and assault as well as criminal mischief.
BURGLARY: A 12th Street landlord reported sometime Saturday afternoon an upstairs apartment was burglarized, perhaps by a recently evicted tenant who may have been retrieving belongings.
KEYED CAR: A Jordan Gardens resident reported someone keyed his car sometime between late Saturday and early Sunday doing about $300 in damage.
SHOPLIFTER: Walmart reported Shari Pompey, 38, of 241 72nd St. at about 3:56 p.m. Sunday scanned several items with the scan-and-go app and then left without paying for everything.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A man driving on Ontario Avenue observed a man with a rock in the road throw it at his vehicle causing about $300 damage to a sway bar.
