I wanted to make the Express lead today the supporting documents for Wednesday’s council meeting but our transparent government is opaque. I do see a promise in the Gazette this morning that the long-awaited Centennial Park feasibility study will be released some time in June.

I worked at home Monday and completed a complicated investment application for a client.

At about 3:30 p.m., if I am home, Gord gets the zoomies – you know, when the poodle just needs to run and communicates his desire by hopping in circles, jumping, barking and demanding tomfoolery commence ASAP.

We took off down the Whirlpool stairs hiking to the flats.

There are amazing flowers. Red columbine is everywhere. So is Herb Robert. Elderberry flower clusters cling to bushtops.

We even saw Solomon’s Seal. What we didn’t find (and hoped for) were oyster mushrooms. They were growing on dead birch logs last fall.

Wednesday night, the item topping the agenda for me is the city becoming lead agency for the environmental impact study (SEQR) on Niagara Falls Redevelopment’s Urbacon project. Looking at the applications, drawings and studies brought forth for the project it is hard to imagine it being anything but real.
