Niagara Falls, NY – United Way of Greater Niagara proudly kicked off its 2024 campaign on Monday at the Great Lakes 360 Building of the Aquarium of Niagara. The press conference, held on International Youth Day, marks the official start of United Way’s annual fundraising efforts aimed at supporting youth programming in Niagara County and the City of Tonawanda.

The event brought together community leaders, partner agencies, and supporters who are committed to making a difference in the lives of those in Niagara County.

“This year’s theme, Give Back to the Future, reflects our dedication to addressing the most pressing issues in our community,” said Andrea Gray, President & CEO of United Way of Greater Niagara. “Contributing to this campaign means investing in programs that play a critical role in the lives of our children, programs that will empower young minds and foster their personal growth.”

One such program currently receiving United Way funds is Aquarium of Niagara’s youth empowerment for aquatic conservation.

"The Aquarium is committed to developing the next generation of conservationists through powerful educational experiences that connect young learners to aquatic habitats and the challenges they face," said Chad Fifer, president & CEO of the Aquarium of Niagara. "The generous support from the United Way of Greater Niagara has empowered us to amplify our efforts, reach broader audiences of all ages and abilities, and ultimately, propel our mission to inspire people to make a difference for our planet and the many incredible animals that call it home."

Community members and businesses are encouraged to participate in this year’s campaign by staying connect through social media, making a donation, and/or volunteering. Together, we can create lasting change and build a stronger, more resilient Niagara County.
