SHOPLIFTER: Tanja Webb, 51, of Hamilton, Ontario was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of petit larceny after she allegedly attempted to leave Marshalls on Military Road with a bag filled with $70.96 in merchandise for which she had not paid.
TRAFFIC STOP: Officers on patrol on Ferry Avenue at about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday observed a moped without a plate light and executed a traffic stop. Howard Kyle, 57, of 3236 Dudley Ave. was charged with no insurance, no registration, no inspection and improper plates.
OOPS: Officers on patrol on Michigan Avenue executed a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by Rashan Vincent, 44, of 2261 Ontario St. at about 1:49 a.m. Wednesday. Vincent told police he just got the vehicle out of impound and still has not acquired new plates. He was charged with operating with a suspended registration, no license, no plates and no inspection. The vehicle was sent back to impound.
SHOPLIFTER: Police were called to Target on Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 7 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a shoplifter. Ian Riley, 48, homeless, was charged with petit larceny for attempting to leave the store without paying for items valued at $537.
TRESPASS: Officers were called to Niagara Gospel Mission at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday when Errick Norman, 32, of 1879 Weston Ave. was allegedly refusing to leave and threatened police with pepper spray. He was charged with trespassing, unlawful possession of a noxious substance and menacing.
SHOPLIFTER: An officer moonlighting at Walmart was alerted to an alleged shoplifter at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Raghu Singh, 68, homeless allegedly went in a bathroom and put on boots and clothing he had taken from the shelves before attempting to leave the store. The items were valued at $73.94. He was charged with petit larceny.
ROBBERY: A Seneca Niagara Casino patron, after 8 hours of gambling from Wednesday night into Thursday morning when he accepted an offer of a ride from a patron with whom he had become friendly. In the lot outside the casino, that fellow patron allegedly turned on him and said “give me everything you have or I’ll shoot you in the head.” He turned over cash, a $1,900 casino voucher and his I-phone. Casino staff ID’d the alleged thief as Michael McCarthy, 30, of 770 15th St. McCarthy was identified in the casino parking lot and taken into custody on charges of robbery and grand larceny. A man unrelated to the crime was found later attempting to cash the voucher at the casino. The man said he found it in the parking lot.
TRAFFIC STOP: Officers watching the redlight at Hyde Park Boulevard and Pine Avenue at about 12:48 a.m. Friday observed a car run the eastbound redlight and executed a traffic stop. Maximilian Ramirez, 24, of 2907 Lewiston Road was the driver and said he lost his license. He had suspended California driving privileges due to a problem driver point system. Ramirez was charged with traffic violation redlight, failure to yield the right of way, imprudent speed, no license, no insurance and no inspection.
